Luton Atemi Jiu Jitsu Club

The ONLY Japanese Jiu Jitsu Club in Luton & Dunstable!

The TRUE Art of Self Defense!

SCROLL DOWN

What is Atemi Jiu Jitsu?

Atemi, aka, Japanese Jiu Jitsu is the traditional SELF DEFENCE Martial Art, originating from Japan, adapted to the modern day. “Atemi” is defined as the science of striking your opponent’s body before executing a technique. It teaches realistic and practical defensive techniques. Atemi Jiu Jitsu borrows from many other Martial Arts but also inspired many!

As a purely defensive Martial Art, there are no competitions and very little sparring, making it purely an art to master! That being said, don’t let that dissuade you from its effectiveness— defence is the best offence!

The video above is only 1% of Atemi Jiu Jitsu (Red Belt, the foundation of the whole Martial Art!) just to showcase what to expect, but it’s by NO means the end of the journey!

Meet the Trainers

Sensei Jeroen trained his Black Belt in Belgium and has over 20+ years of experience, including competitive Judo!

Sensei Tash trained his Brown Belt here in Luton and has been training for over 10+ years, currently working towards Black Belt.

We owe everything to our teachers, Sensei Alan and Sensei Daren, who both have 30+ years of experience!

We aim to create a comfortable learning environment. We encourage progress, but there’s no pressure to do so!

Instructors

Our Syllabus

Atemi Jiu Jitsu has 8 Belts in total: White to Black. After that, there are 10 “Degrees” after Black. Our Syllabus was created by the late Professor Robert Clark, a legend in the Jiu Jitsu world, a 9th Degree Black Belt and the founder of the World Jiu Jitsu Federation (WJJF).

Every student starts at White Belt, and each Belt gets progressively more advanced— but more fun, interesting, and complex. We are certified to train and grade, and all students are encouraged to do so, but there’s NO pressure!

Click a Belt below to view its Syllabus. It’s worth having your own copies to make notes! (Downloads available).
